Angelica Semmelbauer
Founder, Ellipsis Art

Angelica Semmelbauer is a private art advisor based in New York City, and founder of art advisory company Ellipsis Art, where she advises private clients on art acquisition and collection management. She also represents a roster of artists from her previous 15-year career as a gallerist. During her tenure as Director at Mimi Ferzt Gallery in New York (2005-2015), which specialized in Russian Non-Conformist and Contemporary Art, she organized important curatorial exhibitions for these artists, and placed many of them in important private and public art collections around the world, including the Guggenheim Museum, MOMA, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the State Tretyakov gallery, Moscow.

In her current private advisory role, she is most excited about creating direct connections between artists and collectors. She curates exhibitions, organizes events, including studio visits, and creates marketing campaigns to bring visibility to contemporary and mid-career artists.

Angelica serves as the Co-Chair of the Membership Committee for ArtTable’s New York Chapter, and as Communication Officer for the NYU Alumni Council, where she received her Master’s Degree in Visual Arts Administration (Class of 2004). When not busy with client work, Angelica also loves to travel and to practice yoga.
