Suzy Delvalle
Interim Director | Socrates Sculpture Park | New York

Susan (Suzy) Delvalle is currently the Interim Director of Socrates Sculpture Park in Long Island City, New York. She was previously the president and executive director of Creative Capital, only the second person in the organization’s history to hold these positions. Delvalle comes to Creative Capital with a strong background in the arts, fundraising, and institution-building. Most recently, she served as the founding director of the Sugar Hill Children’s Museum of Art & Storytelling, overseeing the development and opening of the museum in New York City.She previously served as director of external affairs and development at El Museo del Barrio, also in New York City, where she dramatically increased the museum’s budget and attendance over her eleven-year tenure.

Before joining El Museo, Delvalle worked for American Composers Orchestra, following a career in consumer banking and advertising. She is a guest lecturer in the Arts Management program at the New School and has served as an adjunct faculty member at New York University’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies. Delvalle holds an undergraduate degree from Bentley University and a master’s degree from New School’s Robert J. Milano Graduate School of Management and Urban Policy. Delvalle was born and raised in Curaçao and speaks Spanish, Dutch, and Papiamento in addition to English.
