Over her twenty year career, Dorothy Dávila has cultivated a passion for art and culture at institutions such as the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; Harvard Art Museums; and Yerba Buena Center for the Arts (YBCA). Dorothy currently serves as Managing Director at Headlands Center for the Arts, where she oversees the financial and operational aspects for the renowned artist and residency program located in the Marin Headlands, outside of San Francisco. She has sat on the Executive Committee of the Northern California chapter since 2018, and currently serves on ArtTable’s Finance and Governance Committees.
In her previous role as Director of Program at YBCA, Dorothy oversaw the visual arts, performing arts, and film programs within a socially-engaged multidisciplinary arts institution. At YBCA she managed dozens of exhibitions, projects, and public art installations, curating Tom Sachs: Space Program: Europa in 2016 and co-curating Edgar Arceneaux with Lucía Sanromán in 2017.
During her tenure at Harvard Art Museums, Dorothy was responsible for overseeing object information, visual archives, exhibitions, projects, and programs. As head of the Collections Department, she collaborated with curators, donors, and gallerists to grow and strengthen the museum’s collection, with a particular focus on enhancing Harvard’s contemporary art holdings.
