In 2019, Josely Carvalho received the International Art and Olfaction Sadakichi Award for the category of Experimental Olfaction Artwork in Amsterdam with smells she created together with Leandro Petit, perfumist at Givaudan do Brasil. She has been the recipient of the Pollock-Krasner Foundation (2017); The Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Center Residency (2001); Creative Capital Foundation (2000); NYSCA (2003), among others.
