About the Exhibition
Young Americans is a project and exhibition featuring the work of award-winning photographer, Ada Trillo and the voices of young Philadelphian photographers. Ada Trillo is a fine art documentary photographer based in Philadelphia, PA and Juarez, Mexico. Her work is concerned primarily with human rights issues facing Latinx Americans. Trillo has become known for her representation of young people enduring forced prostitution and braving the difficult conditions of mass migration along the southern USA border.
Trillo will be collaborating with photographer and teaching artist Tony Rocco and his teen Photography Without Borders (PWB) students in Philadelphia. Photography Without Borders engages Philadelphia’s inner-city teens in photography-based learning and cultural exchanges. Young students gain technical and artistic skills and are encouraged to explore autobiographical storytelling.
Thank you to Philadelphia Chapter Leaders Rachel Zimmerman, Laurie McGahey, and April Williamson for organizing this program, and the staff of Inliquid.
